H.E.A.R.T.s Astride was founded in November of 2005 to create a
center for therapeutic horseback riding for the handicapped of Mid
Missouri. Located at Germania Stables in Crocker,
Missouri, H.E.A.R.T.s Astride is a separate and non-profit organization that
utilizes the facilities and horses already on the premises. On January 11,
2006,
H.E.A.R.T.s Astride became a North American Riding for
the Handicap Association (NARHA) member center. Each member of
the staff has completed all required training and certification.
The Executive Director has 20 years of experience training horses and
riders. |

| The
H.E.A.R.T.s Astride logo of a little girl on horseback in a
simple heart is actually one of our riders and ponies in
silhouette. Haley is a beautiful little girl with special needs
who began riding with Diana Gerdes four years ago. Through
lessons and time with "Molly", the pony Haley rides, she has made
wonderful improvements both physically and emotionally. The
heart around Haley and "Molly" represents the love that this
organization has for each of its riders as well as the special bonds
the riders receive with their horses. |
